2018 Annual Meeting

93rd ANNUAL MEETING
OF THE
MEDIEVAL ACADEMY
OF AMERICA

Emory University, Atlanta Georgia
1 - 3 March 2018

Emory University is pleased to host the Medieval Academy of America for the first time since 1984. Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the most-traveled in the world, and travel is made even more convenient by the recent addition of the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal. Atlanta is also home to the High Museum of Art, Emory’s Michael C. Carlos Museum, the Martin Luther King Center, the Civil Rights Museum, the Center for Disease Control, and of course, the Coca-Cola Museum. A more ambitious trip, approximately an hour and a half south of the city, takes you to Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s Little White House in Warm Springs, Georgia. The entire conference will be held and housed at the Emory Conference Center, a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired building located on a 26-acre forest preserve.  Shops and restaurants are adjacent at Emory Point.

Location: Emory Conference Center Hotel, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia.

Lodging:

We strongly recommend that attendees stay at the Emory University Conference Center where the meeting will take place, as transportation in Atlanta can be frustrating.
Thursday and Friday night self-parking is included for guests staying at the ECCH. Wednesday and Saturday night self-parking is $15 per night ($20 valet). We have negotiated discounted pricing at the Conference Center that includes meals for those staying Thursday or Friday night:

SINGLE OCCUPANCY (prices are per room and include all taxes and service charges)

Wednesday night, $190.87 (no meals included)
Thursday night, $200.00 (Friday breakfast and lunch included)
Friday night, $200.00 (Friday banquet, Saturday breakfast and lunch included)
Saturday night, $190.87 (no meals included)

These prices cannot be guaranteed after February 2, so make your reservations as soon as possible!

DOUBLE OCCUPANCY (prices are per person, and include all taxes and service charges)

Wednesday night, $95.44 (no meals included)
Thursday night, $150.00 (Friday breakfast and lunch included for each guest registered for the conference)
Friday night, $150.00 (Friday banquet, Saturday breakfast and lunch included for each guest registered for the conference)
Saturday night, $95.44 (no meals included)

These prices cannot be guaranteed after February 2, so make your reservations as soon as possible!

If you are sharing a room with another conference attendee, do NOT make your reservation online. In order to take advantage of the discounted double-occupancy rate, one of the attendees should make the reservation by phone. Call the Emory University Conference Center reservations office at (404) 712-6565, mention that you are attending the Medieval Academy meeting, and let them know the name of the person with whom you are sharing a room. Companions who are not attending the Annual Meeting may share a room for no additional cost but without inclusions.
